The FWS Interest feature class is an aggregated data layer derived by appending separate regional feature data sets into a single national data set that represents land and waters that USFWS has acquired a real estate interest in. (FWS Interest is available at: <https://fws.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=0a30eaf43328427db8750282d67f0005> ) This data set is a simplified version of the FWS Interest feature class. The spatial and positional accuracy of this information will vary depending on the original source data and methods utilized. All data sources are not listed in this document but are maintained regionally and are available upon request. We strive to improve the accuracy of this data and incorporate more reliable information when available. This dataset does not distinguish Refuges or other areas that are open to the public from those that are closed to the public for any reason. The public is urged to contact specific Refuges for information about public access.
